The hardest fact to get out of this market, and the one the FDA’s enforcement actually turns on. Here is who publishes it.

Ask most GLP-1 providers which pharmacy compounds your medication and you will not get a straight answer. A small number publish it outright, sometimes with a licence number you can look up.
This matters more in 2026 than it did in 2024. The FDA issued more than 55 warning letters to online GLP-1 sellers in a single action in September 2025, and the distinction between a properly licensed 503A pharmacy and an unlicensed source is exactly what separates a legitimate programme from a dangerous one.

Why does the pharmacy matter?
Because the pharmacy is what is actually regulated. A 503A pharmacy is licensed by a state board; a 503B outsourcing facility registers with and is inspected by the FDA. Knowing which one made your medication tells you what oversight sat behind it.
How do I check a pharmacy myself?
Ask the provider in writing for the name and whether it is 503A or 503B, then look it up with the state board of pharmacy in the state it operates from. Licences are public records.
What the price does not tell you
Compounded preparations are not FDA-approved. Two approved oral GLP-1s now start around $149 a month, and from 1 July 2026 eligible Medicare beneficiaries can access certain GLP-1s for $50 a month — both of which beat a large part of this market. See the approved pills and the Medicare programme.
