1 mg sits at a specific point in the titration protocol, and what it is for differs from the rung below it.

1 mg is step 3 of 5 on the semaglutide ladder, reached around weeks 9-12. A genuinely therapeutic dose, and one some people stay on rather than continuing up the ladder.

It is also the point where pricing starts to matter. On a programme that charges by dose, your bill climbs exactly as the treatment begins working. On a flat-rate programme, 1 mg costs what the starting dose cost — and over a full titration that difference is worth more than almost any advertised discount.

What 1 mg is for

1 mg is a genuinely therapeutic dose and a common place to settle. It is also the dose at which semaglutide is widely used for type 2 diabetes, so there is a large body of real-world experience with it beyond the weight-management trials. If you are getting the appetite effect you need here, there is no particular reason to keep climbing.

Side effects are usually more manageable here than at the 0.5 mg step, because the system has adapted.

What 1 mg costs

6 of the providers we track hold a single price at every dose, so 1 mg costs the same as the starting dose. They are listed first below because at this rung that is the whole ballgame.

ProviderPrice at 1 mgPer yearScore
Coreage Rx$139$1,6684.5
Trimi$99$1,1884.6
Mochi Health$178$2,1363.6
PlexusDx$189$2,2684.4
Eden$198$2,3763.1
Remedy Meds$299$3,5883.5

Cheapest flat-rate option at 1 mg: Trimi at $99 a month, which is what it charges at every other rung too.

The remaining 10 providers either price by dose or do not publish a flat-rate commitment. Their quoted figures start at $85 a month, but that is the starting-dose price — ask specifically what 1 mg will cost before you assume it holds.

Important. The question to ask before you start. "What will I be charged when I reach 1 mg?" If the answer is not the same number you were quoted at the start, you are on a tiered programme and should budget for the higher figure rather than the advertised one.
