Branded Wegovy through Ro means a manufacturer pen, a known dose and no ambiguity about what is in it. It also means a $149 monthly membership before any medication is dispensed.
Wegovy through NovoCare has been offered at $199 a month for the first two fills through the end of 2026, then $349 a month. Add the membership and a cash payer lands near $498 a month once those introductory fills are used.
The prescription, at a glance
What is actually supplied
A manufacturer pen is meaningfully easier to use correctly than drawing from a vial — the dose is dialled rather than measured. For anyone with unsteady hands or poor near vision, that is a real clinical advantage that never appears on a price comparison.
How the prescription works
Insurance work is the core of the service, and it is done properly. The clinical side is competent and unremarkable.
Membership-first telehealth service. Ro exited compounded GLP-1s and now routes patients to FDA-approved branded medication, billed separately from the membership.
Reading the price
About $5,376 a year paying cash. Potentially a small fraction of that with coverage.
Same structure: $149/month membership plus the branded medication cost, which varies by dose and coverage.
What we verified
- Ro Body membership is $39 for the first month, then $149/month.
- Membership does not include the cost of GLP-1 medication.
- Ro has exited compounded GLP-1s and works with FDA-approved branded products.
- Effective all-in cost commonly lands between $298 and $598/month depending on the medication and any insurance coverage.
- Cancellation requires notice before the renewal date.
Checked 2026-09-18. Pricing here changes frequently; treat anything older than a month as a starting point rather than a quote.
Strengths
- FDA-approved medication only, which removes the compounding-regulation question entirely.
- Genuine help pursuing insurance coverage.
- Clear that medication is not included in the membership.
Drawbacks
- The $149/month membership buys no medication at all.
- Total cost is among the highest here for anyone paying cash.
- No compounded option for people who cannot afford branded pricing.
Important. The membership and the medication are two separate bills. A $39 first month does not mean a $39 prescription.
How it scored
Ro scores 3.5 out of 5, placing it 9 of 17 for semaglutide. Weights are fixed before assessment and published on how we rate.

Our verdict
Check your formulary first. With coverage, the approved product and the pen make this a straightforwardly good choice. Without it, the cost is hard to justify against compounded alternatives.
